SFAD Book Group chose “What’s Left Behind” for their November read.  I had a wonderful evening chatting to Lena and the ladies in the book group, discussing the book’s themes. Thank you all so much for your honest reflections and just the conversation in general.  Really enjoyed it.  Thanks for inviting me.

Moi and three literary giants!

What’s not to love, meeting these 3 fabulous authors!  Thank you for making me feel so welcome as I opened their main event.  Chuffed to bits.

Bloody Scotland Crime In The Spotlight

Had an absolute blast doing my Crime In The Spotlight Event at Bloody Scotland. Opening the main event with Lin Anderson, Chris Brookmyre and Clare Mackintosh.  The session titled The Party’s Over featured these amazing authors books, all centred round a party.  They all sounded great reads!

They all made me feel so welcome in the Authors’ Green Room where I sat feeling very humble and a tad AUTHORLY with my Author Pass!!  Great experience and opportunity and met readers after at the signing table alongside these 3 big literary hits.  A wonderful memory to look back on.

Book Reviews

I’m so happy with the reviews I’ve had on Amazon.  It’s wonderful that the book is being enjoyed by readers.  Reviews make a difference especially to debut authors like myself.

With many of my books off to their new homes following my recent talks, it would be lovely to hear your thoughts. Only takes a minute to hop on to Amazon and add your review.  Amazon customers can add book reviews, irrespective of where you bought the book.

Thank you.

Judy Murray - new book deal and bookish things.

On a recent visit to Cromlix House, Judy grabbed her copy of my book and I’m hoping will enjoy the read.  Judy herself secured a two book deal with Orion Fiction and looks set to publish her first debut novel “The Wild Card” in 2023.

From the publisher…….

The Wild Card is a "fresh, uplifting" story about how it is never too late to follow your dreams, following Abigail Patterson who, after putting her tennis career on hold, finds herself entered into the country’s biggest tennis championship as a wild card entry. However, her success in the competition means that is only a matter of time before the press start uncovering the secret Abi has kept hidden for so long.

Good Luck Judy!

First Minister Adds to her Reading Bundle

Great to see the First Minister, an avid reader, will soon be reading my book.  Wonder what she’ll make of it?

Debut Novel May 2022

Fantastic News!
My debut novel “What’s Left Behind” will be published this coming May.

It follows the life of GRACE, an artist and gallery owner, in the immediate aftermath of a terrible crime against her elderly mother.  How will she get through this at the same time as her mum struggles through a mix of trauma and dementia?

Grace shows amazing courage laced with an overwhelming belief that there is always hope.  That's her better qualities.  But not so healthy is her obsession with finding out all she can about the perpetrator. He says it wasn't him;  Grace is sure it was him.  Someone else knows it was him and wants justice.  And what about Julian Brodie, the stranger who turns up at her gallery, enticing her into a relationship?  Will he help her get through this or is he just going to make matters worse?  Grace isn't in any emotional state to figure this out anyway as things for her are moving into somewhat murky territory.  There are the late night walks past the perpetrator’s house, sitting by a river at 3am and let’s not forget the nasty incident involving fresh road kill.

A modern literary annexe to the many crime novels that constantly grip us.  But when the police finish and the fingerprint dust settles, how many of us know What's Left Behind?

A psychological and at times macabre portrayal of the legacy of violent crime.

Watch this space, coming out in Paperback and Kindle.
